Mr Major Agni, the spokesperson of the NNPP (New Nigeria Peoples Party), has indicated that the only premise under which a coalition with Labour Party will work is if Peter Obi accepts to serve as the Vice Presidential candidate to Kwankwaso.
Mr Agni stated this while answering during an interview session on Arise Television. According to him, Kwankwaso remains the stand out candidate preferred by Nigerians.
He even went on to intimate that the NNPP has been receiving please from Nigerians who want to ensure that Kwankwaso does not step down for Peter Obi. The only acceptable agreement will however be one in which Kwankwaso is the principal and Obi the vice.

Responding to the argument that Kwankwaso does not have a national structure, he said “for anybody to quickly dismiss the NNPP as being in one or two states is not correct. What I can tell you is that the party is heavily on ground and we have our structures everywhere.”
Neither the Labour Party nor Peter Obi himself has made any comments regarding the status of the coalition talks. All parties simply agree that talks are on-going.
