The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has said that two political parties, the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, and the African Congress, AAC, have not uploaded even a single nomination to the portal, three days to deadline.   The two political parties have former Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Sahara Reporters Publisher, Omoyele Sowore as their presidential candidates for the 2023 election. Coalition will Only Work if Obi Accepts to Run as VP – NNPP

Mr Major Agni, the spokesperson of the NNPP (New Nigeria Peoples Party), has indicated that the only premise under which a coalition with Labour Party will work is if Peter Obi accepts to serve as the Vice Presidential candidate to Kwankwaso. Mr Agni stated this while answering during an interview session on Arise Television. According to him, Kwankwaso remains the stand out candidate preferred by Nigerians. A former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabi’u Kwankwaso, has said a former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, might have become his running mate if the latter had joined the New Nigeria Peoples Party, instead of the Labour Party, after exiting the Peoples Democratic Party. Kwankwaso, who is now presidential candidate of the NNPP, said the party would hold its presidential primary next week, even though he was the only aspirant who obtained the forms of the NNPP.
