A Peter Obi/Kwankwanso ticket appears to be something that Nigerians may still see if the words of Dr Yunusa Tanko is anything to go by.

While appearing on an interview on Arise Television, Dr Yunusa Tanko, the Spokesperson, National Consultative Forum spoke extensively on the efforts being made to ensure this outcome becomes a reality.

According to him, efforts were well underway to make this happen. While not revealing much, he said “What I can say at the moment is that some of us who have been midwifing this arrangement and talking, we are working very seriously. I don’t want to come out and say A, B, C, D but what I want you to take to the bank is that we are working it very seriously.”

He further on to explain why they felt that this merger was important.

“It’s an idea that we’ve already seen on ground and we felt that those we already see on ground. For example Comrade Peter Obi who is very much grounded in the Southern part of this country need to work with other people who are also more grounded in the Northern part, especially Engineer Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso.

“These individuals have shown character, they’ve shown resilience, they’ve shown determination, they’ve worked closely with people in the ground, the ground trodden, and I think Nigerians should give them support if eventually this our talk comes through.”

While answering questions on the issues of the internal crises in the Labour Party, he said that there was no crisis in the Labour Party. He stated that with both the Labour Union and the TUC coming to fully recognise the labour party under the leadership of Julius Abure, that had been put to rest.
