INEC Warns Against Receiving Funds From Abroad for Political Campaigns

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has warned political parties to desist from receiving funds from foreign countries to aid their campaigns. The INEC National Commissioner, Festus Okoye, stated this while speaking on a programme, Politics Today, aired on Channels Television. Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta State Governor, has stated that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, does not possess enough experience to lead the country. Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, has disclosed why he did not inform Alhaji Atiku Abubakar before leaving the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in May. Recall that Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State decamped from the PDP to LP in May before the PDP held its presidential primary election. Atiku, PDP presidential flagbearer had disclosed during an interview on Arise Television, that Obi told him of his defection three days after dumping the PDP.
