Gbajabiamila Reveals Security Aide Who Shot Abuja Vendor Dead

Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila has revealed identity of a security aide attached to his convoy, who shot a vendor, Ifeanyi Okereke on Thursday at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja. The Speaker identified the security aide as Abdullahi Hassan. Hassan, he said, has been handed over to the appropriate authorities for investigation as well as administrative and judicial actions. Former Super Eagles midfielder, Christian Obodo, who was reported to have been kidnapped on Sunday evening by gunmen in a Delta community, has been freed by the abductors. Names of Seven ‘Lekki Shootings Victims’ Surface at Lagos Panel

The names of seven alleged victims of the October 20 Lekki shootings have ‘surfaced’ at the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Enquiry and Restitution for Victims of SARS related abuses and other matters. Their lawyer, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika SAN, told the panel that he had a petition on their behalf against the Nigerian Army. Nigerian Army Testifies Before Lagos Panel, Claims Officers Fired Blank Bullets into the Air

Officers of the Nigerian Army on Saturday appeared before the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry Inaugurated to probe the shooting of peaceful #EndSaRS protesters at the Lekki Tollgate area of Lagos State on October 20. Speaking on behalf of the Army, Brigadier Ahmed Taiwo, Commander 81 military intelligence brigade which was reported to be unit deployed to the Lekki area claimed that the military fired shots into the air and not at protesters, backing its claim with several footages of what happened at the scene, Channels reports. At the opening of the NAF School of Air Intelligence at NAF Base in Makurdi, Abubakar reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to reposition the Air Force into a highly professional and disciplined force through capacity building. Following the nationwide #EndSARS protests, the Federal Government has secured the freezing of accounts of 20 #EndSARS promoters after approaching a Federal High Court in Abuja on the basis that the funds might have been linked to terrorist activities. This was revealed in a written address in support of a motion ex parte filed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The apex bank froze the accounts of 20 #EndSARS campaigners thereafter sought an ex parte order from the court. The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Lagos State Moyosore Onigbanjo SAN has advised the courts to immediately release 253 persons arrested by the Police in connection with the #EndSARS protest in the state.
