A Zimbabwean man has been killed as irate protesters took to the streets of Johannesburg, South Africa to clamour for an end to violence and crime. This was contained in a statement issued by South African police on Thursday. According to the public channel SABC and another media, the victim is a Zimbabwean immigrant. The murder comes amid growing popular anger over high crime rates, sometimes directed at immigrants accused of fuelling them. EFCC Grills Cubana Chief Priest On Tax Fraud, Money Laundering Allegations

EFCC The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has reportedly arrested popular socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, known better as Cubana Chief Priest for alleged tax fraud and money laundering. Okechukwu, who was arrested at the Lagos airport on Thursday, is being quizzed by anti-graft operatives while the agency was said to be on the hunt for his accomplices. Popular activist, Sunday Igboho has been released. According to Maxwell Adeleye, a spokesman for Igboho, the Yoruba separatist has been set free from the custody of Benin Republic authorities. In a statement on Facebook on Monday morning, Adeleye wrote: "Yoruba Nation Activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, fondly called Sunday Ighoho, has been released by the Government of Republic of Benin." About one million, five hundred thousand tablets and capsules of pharmaceutical opioids such as Tramadol, Exol-5 and Diazepam loaded in Onitsha, Anambra state and heading to Yauri, Kebbi state have been intercepted in Edo state by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, on Friday 14th January, same day 425,000 Diazepam tablets were recovered at Segemu, Kano. Uche Nwosu: Police Confirm Arrest Of Okorocha’s Son-In-Law

The police have arrested the 2019 governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Uche Nwosu. Nwosu, a son-in-law to former Imo Governor, Rochas Okorocha, was picked up on Sunday. It was initially thought that the politician was kidnapped by armed men. In a statement, Imo Police Command Public Relations Officer, Michael Abattam, confirmed Nwosu was in custody. The Chief Superintendent said the announcement was to allay fears about his Nwosu’s whereabouts.
