We Can’t Afford Another Civil War, El-Rufai Tells Corpers

Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai has asked youths to promote peace as Nigeria cannot afford to fight another civil war after millions of lives were lost to war. The governor gave the admonition while addressing corps members posted to the State during the closing ceremony of the orientation camp for 2022 Batch B (Stream 2) on Tuesday.   El-Rufai also encouraged members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, who may play a role in the 2023 general elections to shun acts that may jeopardize the integrity and transparency of the polls. 25 Nigerien Migrants Dumped in the Desert by Smugglers

At least twenty-five Niger migrants consisting of women and children have been rescued in the northern Niger desert after they were dumped by their driver. This was disclosed by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in a statement issued on Tuesday. The migrants were rescued "last weekend in the Sahara desert by (teams of) IOM and the Directorate of Civil Protection of Niger," said the UN agency in a Facebook post.
