Two BRT Buses Involved in a Head-on Collision

Two BRT buses were involved in a head-on collision on Monday at Asolo, Ikorodu road in Lagos while trying to avoid knocking down Okada riders who were illegally plying the route. This was confirmed by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) via their official Twitter handle. The accident which occurred on the BRT corridor resulted in traffic gridlock as onlookers flood the scene of the crash. Although the casualty figures are yet to be confirmed as at the time of this report, eyewitnesses said many who were injured have been taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) has concluded a two-day workshop to strengthen the capacity of religious institutions to respond to domestic violence as it remains a punishable crime in the state.
