NDLEA Destroys N2Billion Worth of Illicit Drugs in Akwa Ibom

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, revealed about N2 billion worth of illicit drugs has been destroyed by the agency between 2014 and September 2021 in Akwa Ibom. The Agency’s Secretary, Mr. Shedrach Haruna, who represented the NDLEA Chairman, retired Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa, said this when he visited the State Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo in Uyo on Thursday. Naive Orphan Used By Human Trafficker to Export Drugs

Alleged human trafficker, Matthew Bassey was intercepted by The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in an attempt to traffic illicit drugs to Dubai. The 29-year-old planted the drugs into the luggage of an orphan, Ms. Peter Gift Eno, who he assigned to traffic those drugs, but was later intercepted by NDLEA officials at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. Embattled Police Officer, Abba kyari has claimed that his health has deteriorated badly since his detention by the National Drug law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA. It was gathered that Kyari, a deputy commissioner of Police, dragged the Federal Government to court seeking his release. it would be recalled that Kyari was arrested last week and handed over to the NDLEA over his involvement in Cocaine Trafficking. The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, has urged the Chairman of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig-Gen Buba Marwa (retd), to immediately arrest officers of the anti-narcotic agency involved in drug crimes with accomplices of suspended cop, Abba Kyari. The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, (NAFDAC) has warned Nigerians against patronizing hawkers who sale herbal concoctions. The NAFDAC DG Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, said the herbal concoctions starts growing bacteria if kept for four to five days.
