NFF Appoints New Media Officers for National Teams as Old Ones Bow Out

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed new Media Officers for the country’s men and women senior football teams. This was contained in a statement by the football body’s Director of Media and Communications, Ademola Olajire on Tuesday in Abuja. According to the statement, NFF appointed Babafemi Raji as Super Eagles Media Officer and Oluchi Tobe-Chukwu as Super Falcons Media head. Olajire said, “For the Super Eagles, Raji takes over from Toyin Ibitoye who has been in the post for five-and-half years, while Tobe-Chukwu takes over from Jane Onyinye Nweze for the Falcons.” NFF lauded both Ibitoye and Nweze for the excellent services rendered to the teams and wished them success in their career. The Federal Government (FG) has declared Thursday as a public holiday to celebrate this year’s Eid-el Maolud. The celebration is in commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad. This was disclosed by Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Raud Aregbesola on behalf of the government who congratulated all Muslims on the occasion of this year’s Eid. Spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, Mohammed Manga in a statement on Tuesday titled, ‘FG declares Thursday, October 29, 2020 public holiday to mark Eidul Mawlid celebration,’ made the announcement. There has been scarcity of Premium Motor Spirt (PMS) popularly known as petrol in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja as long queues were seen at most filling stations in the city, African News Today reports. Motorists in FCT have had to spend several hours in the queue to buy petrol for their cars. The queues started on Tuesday, October 27 across the capital city and its environs. Following allegations of hoarding COVID-19 palliatives, governors under the aegis of Nigeria Governor’s Forum (NGF) debunked hoarding the palliatives intended for distribution to poor Nigerians to curb the hardship induced by the pandemic.
