Former governor of Lagos state and Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola has discovered a camera at the Lekki Toll Gate Area of Lagos, site of the shooting that took place last week.

The minister made the discovery while touring areas rocked by violence during a solidary visit to the governor of Lagos state, Babjide Sanwo-Olu.

Fashola was part of a Federal Government delegation to commiserate with the governor and ascertain the level of damage done to the state.

The former governor handed over the camera to the Governor Sanwo-Olu for a forensic analysis and further investigation.

Recall that there have accusations that the military shot peaceful protesters at the Lekki toll area who were part of the movement for an end to police brutality and the call for a better Nigeria. The Nigerian Army had long denied involvement in the shooting.

Fashola expressed optimism that the camera will help with the ongoing investigations into the shootings at the Lekki Toll Gate.

He said, “It requires forensic analysis and could be used in the investigations to unravel the mystery surrounding the shootings at the Toll Gate, I believe.”

Among the delegation were: Ministers of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Mines and Industries, Olamilekan Adegbite, Niyi Adebayo, Trade and Investments and Olorunnibe Mamora, Health state.
