The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has launched an investigation to unravel the circumstances behind a suit allegedly filled at a Federal High Court in Abuja seeking to stop the various panels probing allegations of rights abuses against police officials. Reports had emerged of a suit seeking to among others, an order restraining the Attorney-General of the 36 states and the panels of inquiry they constituted, from continuing with investigations of the activities of the disbanded Special Ant-Robbery Squad (SARS). Lai Mohammed Chides CNN Over Clarification of its #EndSARS Tweet

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture has reprobated Cable News Network, CNN, for backtracking on its earlier reports on the shootings at the Lekki tollgate area of Lagos State by clarifying tweets posted on its official Twitter handle. CNN on Thursday admitted it misreported the death toll at the Lekki incidence, noting that tweet on October 23 did not emphatically state that the death toll was from protest across the country. Brigadier General Ahmed Taiwo, Commander of 81 Military Intelligence Brigade, Victoria Island, Lagos, which was the Army unit deployed to the Lekki Tollgate area on the night of October 20, has admitted that the officers went to the scene with Live and blank bullet. He said that the Phase four of military internal security operation which the Army deployed involved soldiers taking live ammunition to the scene for self defence. #EndSARS: Arrested Protester, Eromosele, Regains Freedom After 12 Days

Social activist, Eromosele Adene, has finally regained his freedom from unjust detention of the Nigeria Police Force. Adene was arrested by the police on November 7 from his home in Ikeja, Lagos. He was taken to Abuja for interrogation before he was returned to Lagos for trial after 10 days. He was arraigned in court on four count charges of cyber-stalking and activities likely to cause breach of peace. He was granted bail on Tuesday by Magistrate Folarin Williams of the Yaba Magistrate Court. Names of Seven ‘Lekki Shootings Victims’ Surface at Lagos Panel

The names of seven alleged victims of the October 20 Lekki shootings have ‘surfaced’ at the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Enquiry and Restitution for Victims of SARS related abuses and other matters. Their lawyer, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika SAN, told the panel that he had a petition on their behalf against the Nigerian Army. Officers of the Nigerian Army on Saturday appeared before the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry Inaugurated to probe the shooting of peaceful #EndSaRS protesters at the Lekki Tollgate area of Lagos State on October 20. Army Personnel Arrive Probe Venue, to Present Footage of Lekki Shootings

Army personnel attached to the 81 Division, have arrived the venue of the inquiry into the alleged shooting of peaceful #EndSARS protesters by soldiers at the Lekki tollgate area of Lagos on October 20. The Army had submitted the names of three Lieutenant Generals and a Lieutenant Colonel who will testify before the panel in response to invitation by the retired Justice Doris Okuwobi-headed Judicial Panel of Inquiry, Punch reports. CBN Faults #EndSARS Promoters for Terrorism

Following the nationwide #EndSARS protests, the Federal Government has secured the freezing of accounts of 20 #EndSARS promoters after approaching a Federal High Court in Abuja on the basis that the funds might have been linked to terrorist activities. This was revealed in a written address in support of a motion ex parte filed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The apex bank froze the accounts of 20 #EndSARS campaigners thereafter sought an ex parte order from the court.
