Canada has issued a notice to its citizens to avoid non-essential travel to Nigeria due to the country’s precarious security situation and the notable risk of terrorism, crime, inter-communal clashes, armed attacks, and kidnappings. This was contained in the country’s travel advisory issued to citizens. EFCC Parades Medical Doctor, 17 Others Over Internet Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Uyo Zonal Office has paraded a 28-year-old medical doctor, Chijioke Precious, and 17 other suspects over alleged internet scam in Owerri, Imo State. The antigraft agency listed the other suspects, whose ages ranged between 21 and 34, as Anthony Joshua, Henry Mezie, Chukwuebuka Ahiwe, Michael Chinagorom, Jossy Irokwe, Ibe Chukwuebuka, Iroadinma Chibuike, Uchechukwu Divine and Nwosu Emmanuel. Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has recovered N32bn worth of cocaine at the Tincan Port in Lagos State. The cocaine was discovered in a consignment which arrived Nigeria from Brazil on board a vessel marked MV SPAR SCORPIO was placed on surveillance for some days before two clearing agents showed up on Monday to clear it. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, included socialite Ismaila Mustapha, popularly known as Mompha, in an amended charge against an automobile dealer, Sarumi Babafemi, widely known as 606. The anti-graft agency arraigned Babafemi alongside his companies; 606 Autos Limited; 606 Music Limited; and Splash Off Entertainment Limited, on five counts before the Federal High Court in Lagos. Babafemi was accused of laundering a total of N207.1m between 2013 and 2018. Ogun Police Arrest Nine Suspected Land Grabbers

Men of Ogun State Police Command on Sunday arrested nine suspected members of a notorious land-grabbing syndicate for unleashing violence on the people of Agbogun village in Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state. The suspects, Gbenga Odeniyi, Owolabi Shobayo, Michael Ramoni, Idowu Dauda, Femi Fadahunsi, Rasmus Hammed, Ade Lukman, Yakubu Akinwande and Sikiru Balogun were arrested following a tip-off. Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, recovered cocaine worth N21bn from a hairstylist, identified as Jennifer Onyejegbu at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. Hakeem Odumosu, the Lagos State Commissioner of police has cautioned traditionalists operating in the Ikorodu Local Government Area of the state to desist from strengthening cultists and criminals in the area with local charms, otherwise called juju in the country. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, recovered N75m from Halima Turaki, wife of former Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, an operative of the commission identified as Bello Hamma-Adama told Justice Inyang Ekwo, of a Federal High Court in Abuja. During the Dr Goodluck Jonathan era, Taminu Turaki was a Minister for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs between 2013 and 2015. Turaki also served as the Minister for the Federal Ministry of Labour between 2014 and 2015.
