A source told The Guardian that the former governor has met the administrative bail conditions given to him by the anti-graft agency. EFCC Denies Obiano Bail, May Get Court Order To Hold Him

Immediate-past governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, who was arrested on Thursday night at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, en route United States of America, has been denied administrative bail by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday moved ex-Governor Willy Obiano from Lagos to Abuja for quizzing over alleged N42 billion fraud. Obiano was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja on Thursday night a few hours after he handed over power to Prof. Charles Soludo in Awka, and subsequently lost his immunity from arrest. The former governor was said to be on his way to the United States where he was residing before his election eight years ago. He is alleged to have mismanaged his security vote while in office. 12 passengers die in Kaduna-Abuja Road Crash

Twelve passengers were on Monday confirmed dead after their bus crashed on the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway. Six persons injured in the incident were rushed to hospital. Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs Samuel Aruwan confirmed the incident, saying there were 18 persons on board the Toyota Hiace bus. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved N658 million for the deployment of sniffer dogs at Lagos and Abuja international airports. The council gave the approval during the weekly meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday. Hadi Sirika, minister of aviation, while speaking with reporters after the council meeting, said four memoranda was approved for the ministry totalling N16,697,742,839. According to him, the projects to be executed in the contracts include construction of Wachakal Airport in Yobe State at N6.3 billion; post-construction services for the same airport at the cost of N219.8 million. Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police Command has refuted viral messages on social media claiming that bandits attacked the University of Abuja. The police advised Abuja residents to disregard what it described as a rumour.
