The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has announced governor Godwin Obaseki as the winner of Edo State governorship election held on Saturday.
The victory meant Obaseki has secured a second term in office after seeing off contest from his opponents with a wide margin.
INEC disclosed Obaseki’s victory on Sunday afternoon after he polled the highest number of votes in the Edo election.
Obaseki who contested the election under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, defeated his closest opponent, Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressive Congress with a difference of 84,336 votes.
