Delta Claims 2020 National Sports Festival Top Spot with 384 Medals

Delta State contingent has emerged as the winner of the 20th edition of the National Sports Festival held in Edo State between April 2 and 14, 2021. The state achieved the feat with 158 gold, 116 silver, and 110 bronze, African News Today gathered. The second spot was occupied by the host, Team Edo with 129 gold, 104 silver, and 108 bronze while Team Bayelsa finished third with 56 gold, 55 silver, and 58 bronze. Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State on Tuesday presented before a Federal High Court in Abuja series of documents, including the original copy of the Bachelor of Arts certificate he claimed was issued to him by the University of Ibadan (UI) in 1979, to support his claim that he graduated from the school. Certificate Forgery: Court Admits More Exhibits Against Obaseki

The All Progressives Congress on Wednesday tendered two more documents in support of its allegation of certificate forgery leveled against the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, at the Federal High Court in Abuja. One of the documents was the original copy of a first-degree certificate awarded to Emmanuel Balogun and by the University of Ibadan on July 6, 1979. Obaseki had said he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics from the same university in the same year. The other document admitted as exhibit by the court was a report of a forensic document examiner, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Mr Raphael Onwuzuligbo. The ceremony was held at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, the state capital. The Oath of Office was administered by Chief Judge of the state, Justice Esther Edigin.
