Edo State deputy governor, Philip Shaibu, has polled 401 votes in his polling unit by 401 votes as against the All Progressives Congress’s 148 votes in today’s Governorship election.
He earlier voted at Ward 11, polling unit 5 of Etsako West LGA where he addressed his supporters to remain calm and allow the rule of law to prevail.
In another polling unit close to that of the Deputy Governor, the PDP also polled 131 to win its closest rival, APC which polled 65.
Shortly after the results were announced, supporters of the PDP took to the streets to celebrate.
Mr. Shaibu who later returned to the scene to thank his supporters met elated youths who chanted, “you are a leader. You are a leader.”
More results are trickling in as INEC continues collation.
