  Edo Governor Godwin Obaseki has commended his Rivers State colleague Nyesom Wike for standing fearlessly with him while describing him as a vessel used by God for his victory in last Saturday's election. Obaseki said his former party (APC) rejected him but he was received and motivated by the Rivers State Governor who stood with him throughout the electioneering period. Appeal Court Constitutes Edo Governorship Election Tribunal Panel

  President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, on Monday constituted the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal to handle petitions arising from the gubernatorial election in Edo State. The tribunal’s secretary, Sunday Martins, Esq., disclosed this in a statement released on Monday, in Abuja. According to the statement, the tribunal has been mandated to hear and determine petitions that may arise from the election. Edo 2020: Atiku Congratulates Obaseki

  Following the announcement of Governor Godwin Obaseki, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the gubernatorial elections in Edo State yesterday, former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has congratulated the Governor. Atiku who was the party's flagbearer in the 2019 Presidential elections commended Governor Obaseki for liberating the state from "godfatherism and militarism." Edo 2020: Phillip Shaibu Wins Polling Unit with Wide Margin

  Edo State deputy governor, Philip Shaibu, has polled 401 votes in his polling unit by 401 votes as against the All Progressives Congress’s 148 votes in today’s Governorship election. He earlier voted at Ward 11, polling unit 5 of Etsako West LGA where he addressed his supporters to remain calm and allow the rule of law to prevail. In another polling unit close to that of the Deputy Governor, the PDP also polled 131 to win its closest rival, APC which polled 65. Shortly after the results were announced, supporters of the PDP took to the streets to celebrate.
