Hoodlums Attack Aregbesola Supporters In Osun

Suspected hoodlums have attacked some supporters of the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregebsola, under the All Progressives Congress. Reports indicate that Aregbesola’s supporters were attacked on Tuesday at a political meeting in Ikirun. The Osun Progressive caucus, under the Osun APC, were said to have been holding a meeting beside the Ifelodun Local Government Council secretariat when they were attacked by the hoodlums. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Enugu Zonal Command on Friday, January 28, 2022, returned eleven houses recovered in different parts of Enugu to Chief Arthur Eze. The properties were recovered by the EFCC from the duo of Olisaebuka Okechukwu Eze and Onyeka Nnadozie Eze, administration and finance manager respectively in Arthur Eze’s firm, accused of criminal breach of trust and diversion of funds belonging to the business mogul. About one million, five hundred thousand tablets and capsules of pharmaceutical opioids such as Tramadol, Exol-5 and Diazepam loaded in Onitsha, Anambra state and heading to Yauri, Kebbi state have been intercepted in Edo state by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, on Friday 14th January, same day 425,000 Diazepam tablets were recovered at Segemu, Kano. Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers have killed a broadcaster with the Akwa Ibom State Broadcasting Corporation, (AKBC) Uyo, Mr Augustine Ekanem. It was gathered that Ekanem alias “Talk and laugh” and "Country Man" was shot dead at about 8:30pm on Thursday, December 30, at a filling station and his car was snatched from him at gun point. Some youths in Owo Kingdom in the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State on Wednesday night staged a protest over the killing of a high chief in the community, Tunde Ilori Elerewe, by unknown gunmen. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested five members of a syndicate who specialise in counterfeiting foreign currencies, especially the dollar, for sale to unsuspecting members of the public. Acting on intelligence, the commission, in a joint operation with operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, arrested four members of the syndicate on December 8, 2021, at Swiss Pearl Continental Hotel, Koforidua Street, in the Wuse 2 area of Abuja with fake $427,400.
