Insecurity: Buhari Summons Service Chiefs For An Emergency Meeting

Following the heightened insecurity across the country, President Muhammadu Buhari has invited all the service chiefs for an emergency meeting on Thursday (today).

The summon comes on the heels of an attack on the Presidential Guards by suspected terrorists along the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

This was disclosed by Femi Adesina, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President, when he appeared on Channels Television’s programme, Politics Today on Wednesday.

Adesina said, “Tomorrow the President has summoned another security meeting with the heads of the security agencies.”

Meanwhile, opposition senators issued a six-week ultimatum to the President to curb the insecurity threats confronting the country. This was conveyed by Senator Philip Aduda, minority leader, who was flanked by other legislators during a press conference on Wednesday. He said that the president must either tackle the security challenges or face impeachment.
