Gunmen have beheaded the sole Administrator of Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, Chris Ohizu, who was abducted. The LG boss was murdered on Sunday after his captives were allegedly paid N6 million as ransom.    Video of his beheading trended on social media on Sunday, where his abductors insisted that there won’t be election in the country. Bandits Burn Catholic Priest To Death In Niger

Suspected bandits have killed a Catholic Priest of St. Peters and Paul Catholic Church identified as Isaac Achi, in Kafin-Koro, Paikoro Local Government Area, LGA, of Niger State. The priest was torched to death at his residence in the early house of Sunday. The attack was confirmed by the Niger State police command spokesperson, Wasiu Abiodun, noting that the bandits burnt the building after failing to gain access into the priest’s residence. Four Killed In Anambra As Police Intensify Patrol

Yet-to-be-identified gunmen killed at least four persons on Nzomiwu Street in Eziani community, Ihiala Local Government of Anambra State. Reports say the gunmen stormed the community on Tuesday and started shooting into the air, thereby killing the victims – three males and a pregnant female. NRC Announces Indefinite Suspension of Edo Train Service Over Abduction

The Nigeria Railway Corporation, NRC, has announced an indefinite shutdown of Ekehen Station in Edo State.   It said the decision was reached due to security challenges. The development happens barely one year after the March 28, 2022 attack by suspected terrorists on the Abuja-Kaduna train, which culminated in the death of about 14 passengers while 65 others were kidnapped. Police Officer Shoots Lagos Lawyer Dead On Christmas Day

A policeman whose identity wasn't disclosed attached to the Lagos police command has shot dead a female lawyer identified as Bolanle Raheem. The incident reportedly took place on Sunday morning in the Ajah area of the State. Reports say the incident took place when the deceased and her family were on their way back from Christmas service. The car conveying them was stopped by some officers attached to the Ajiwe police station in Ajah. One of the officers reportedly shot at the car and the bullet hit the lawyer. NAF Rescues Seven Chinese After Six Months In Captivity

The Nigerian Air Force Special Forces under the 271 Detachment in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State has freed seven Chinese workers abducted by suspected Bandits in Niger State. The Chinese expatriates were abducted in June while working at a mining site. This was contained in a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, on Saturday, noting that they were freed after a search-and-rescue mission by operatives. IGP Deploys Armed Officers As Abuja-Kaduna Train Service Restarts Monday

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Usman Baba has directed the deployment of armed operatives to secure the Abuja-Kaduna train services. This was contained in a statement issued by the force spokesperson, Oluwuyiwa Adejobi, on Sunday. Adejobi said the personnel would be drawn from the police mobile force, K-9force intelligence bureau, explosive ordinance unit, and railway police command. The Abuja-Kaduna train service is scheduled to resume on Monday, December 5.
