#EndSARS: No Security Officer Punished For Killing, Others One Year After Brutal Crackdown —Amnesty International

A non-governmental organisation, Amnesty International has alleged that the #EndSARS Judicial Panel of Inquiry dashed hopes of victims rather than providing restitution to them. On October 19, 2020, the Lagos state government set up a nine-man Judicial Panel of Inquiry to investigate cases of brutality and human rights violations perpetrated by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force and the dissolved Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS). The panels, which were also established in other states of the country were mainly set up as a response to one of the demands of youth during the #EndSARS protests. Osimhen’s Scores to Secure Napoli’s Eight Straight Serie A Win

A late Victor Osimhen’s towering header sealed a hard-fought 1-0 for Napoli which saw them record their eight consecutive win in the Serie A this season. Napoli are now the only team in Europe’s top five leagues with a 100 percent record and reclaims the first position from AC Milan as they have 24 points. Lagos Governor Plans To Distract Youths From #EndSARS Anniversary With ‘Concerts’ – Nigerian Rapper, Falz

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is plotting to organise concerts with celebrities to distract youths from participating in the EndSARS remembrance event. Nigerian rapper, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, made the allegations in a social media post on Friday. Popular Instagram comedian, Debo Adedayo, also known as Mr. Macaroni, had earlier taken a swipe at celebrities for accepting Sanwo-Olu’s invitation to perform at a concert meant to hold days before the Lekki shooting anniversary. Lagos Police Warn Against Planned #EndSARS Memorial Protest, Threaten “Wrath Of The Law”

The Lagos State commissioner of police, Hakeem Odumosu, has warned residents of the state to desist from participating in any form of protest planned in commemoration of the #EndSARS protest. The police boss promised that his officers would resist any of such protests. This is contained in a statement released on Monday by Adekunle Ajisebutu, the Lagos police spokesperson. Training Of Exited N Power Volunteers Begins October – FG

The Federal government has disclosed its plan to commence training for the exited batches A and B of the NPower scheme. The Federal Government also said out of 500,000 exited volunteers, 390,000 of them have been successfully accommodated in the NEXIT. NEXIT is an exit package for all the beneficiaries of the N Power in partnership with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to enable them to benefit from the CBN empowerment options. According to the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq, the training would commence next month.
