NDDC Official Kidnapped by Gunmen in Imo State

Engineer Kingsley Okorafor has been abducted by unknown gunmen near his residence in Umuadara Umulogho Autonomous Community, Obowo Local Government Area of Imo state. The community not far away from a military checkpoint was thrown into panic, when an official of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) went missing in the early hours of Saturday. A family member disclosed that the abductee went to the vigil of the late traditional ruler of Ndihu, Eze innocent Anyawu on Friday night. The late Eze innocent of the Ndihu Autonomous Community in Obowo Local Government Area was to be buried on Saturday. Kuje Prison Attackers Had Help From Inside – Lawan

Dr, Ahmad Lawan, President of the Senate, has alleged that attackers of the Kuje Medium Security Correctional Centre, had help from insiders in the facility who facilitated the onslaught. He also said the attack was a testament to the state of Nigeria’s security apparatus at the moment. Gunmen Attack Kuje Prison, Release Inmates

Gunmen attack at the the Kuje Custodial Centre in Abuja yesterday caused major panic as residents feared for their lives. The suspected terrorist attack was carried out in a deliberate attempt to force entry and free some prisoners.   Reports say three bomb blasts were heard within the correctional facility with the first one occurring around 10;25pm. The bomb blasts were followed by sporadic gunshots which threw residents into distress. Catholic Priests Abducted along Expressway in Edo

Two catholic priests traveling along the Benin-Auchi-Abuja Expressway have reportedly been kidnapped. The priests were abducted on Saturday while traveling from Benin to Uromi in Edo state. Shortly after Rev. Fr. Christopher Odia of the St. Michael Catholic Church, located around the Edo North Senatorial District was kidnapped and killed, two other priests, Rev.Fathers Udo Peter and Philemon were also kidnapped in the same state. Mr. Fred Itua, a close friend of Rev. Fr. Oboh also confirmed that he was kidnapped. "Rev. Fr. Oboh is a priest, who does not have money. His abduction is unfortunate, disheartening, and traumatizing,” he said. Terrorist Attack – Seven Soldiers Feared Dead in Taraba

A suspected terrorist attack has left about seven soldiers dead in Taraba State. Reports say that the soldiers were killed in a forest located around Amdami in the Karim-Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State on Thursday. The incident was confirmed by the Chairman of Karim Lamido council, Markus Hamidu, according to Daily Post. The soldiers were reportedly on patrol within the area. Hamidu said, “Seven soldiers were killed by bandits yesterday (Thursday) around Amdami area. It is very unfortunate. Two Bombers Allegedly Killed In Imo Oil Firm Blast

NPF Two persons have been confirmed dead after an explosive device went off at an oil firm in Imo State. The incident happened on Wednesday at Addax Oil Company in Izombe community of Oguta Local Government Area. Less than two weeks ago, an explosion at an illegal refinery site at Ohaji-Egbema Local Government Area killed about 150 people. A local source told our correspondent that the two victims of the blast were suspected terrorists, who attempted to bomb the oil company but detonated the bomb which exploded and killed them.
