2023 Election: INEC To Provide 200,000 BVAS – Okoye

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has said that over 200,000 Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS, will be deployed for the 2023 general elections. This was disclosed by Festus Okoye, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, in Umuahia, Abia State. He said that the BVAS would be deployed in the 176,000 polling units across the country, adding that the surplus will be kept handy as a reserve. Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has suspended the payment of pensions to pensioners in the State, citing fraud in wage bills. PVC Registration: Why Lagos Govt Declared Work-free Days – Commissioner

Gbenga Omotoso, Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, has cited Permanent Voters Card, PVC, registration as the rationale behind the four free-work days declared by the state government. He said the holiday given to workers in the State was to provide them with the opportunity to enrol for the PVC before the July 31, 2022 deadline fixed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
