Police Foil Unknown Gunmen Attack On Anambra Police Station 

The Anambra State police command has foiled an attack by unknown gunmen who stormed the Uli Police Station in Ihiala local government area. The attackers stormed the station in a black coloured Lexus 330 car, but were repelled by the superior firepower of the officers on duty, thus forcing the gunmen to run away. Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga said the operational vehicle of the gunmen was recovered by the police.It was gathered that the gunmen headed back to Mgbidi in Imo State from where they came from. Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police Command has refuted viral messages on social media claiming that bandits attacked the University of Abuja. The police advised Abuja residents to disregard what it described as a rumour. Kidnapped Rivers NTA Reporter Regains Freedom

The Rivers State Police Command has announced the release of Mrs. Chidiebere Onyia, who was kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Woji, Rivers State last Tuesday, by her kidnappers. Onyia, a nursing mother and an employee of the Nigeria Television Authority, Port Harcourt Zonal office, spent five days in captivity. The kidnappers had blocked her vehicle and taken her away, leaving her colleagues who were with her behind. Confirming the development, the spokesman for the state police command, Nnamdi Omoni, in a statement on Sunday, described Ovia’s release as a Valentine’s Day gift. Lagos CP Condemns Molestation of Lekki Protesters, Orders Probe

The Lagos State Police Command has condemned the inhumane act levelled against some individuals arrested during the protest at the Lekki tollgate area of the state on Saturday. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said in a statement on Sunday that the office-in-charge of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, DCP Adegoke Fayoade, had been ordered to analyse a trending video showing the arrested suspects being subjected to dehumanising conditions. A controversial Prophet in Anambra State, Onyebuchi Okocha, popularly called ‘Onyeze Jesus’, has reportedly been arrested by operatives from Anambra State Police Command. The cleric, who is the Founder of Children of Light Anointing Ministries, Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state, was reportedly arrested on January 27, 2021. Commercial banks in Ikere-Ekiti, the headquarters of Ikere Council Area of Ekiti State on Tuesday shut down operations following the alleged withdrawal of service by policemen. According to a report by The Nation, financial institutions as well as Point of Terminal(POS) outlets were under lock and key due to fear of being attacked over alleged absence of policemen. The Edo State Police Command on Wednesday paraded 126 suspects in connection with the jail-breaks, looting and vandalism in the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests across the nation. We Will Enforce the Law, Police Sounds warning to NCL, TUC Ahead of Protest

The Nigerian Police Force has issued warning to the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) ahead of their strike action and protest slated for Monday to protest the spike in electricity tariff and petrol price. The labour unions have vowed to proceed with the strike and protest despite two court injunctions retraining the unions from embarking on the strike. The unions said they are yet to be served the court orders, adding that the strike can only be averted by reversal of the hikes.
