Raheem: Court To Commence Killer Cop’s Trial Monday

A Lagos State High Court has scheduled Monday (today) to commence the trial of ASP Drambi Vandi, who allegedly killed a Lagos-based lawyer, Mrs Omobolanle Raheem. According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Vandi who was attached to Ajiwe Police Station in Ajah area of Lagos State, allegedly shot and killed Raheem while she was returning from church service with her family on Christmas Day. The lawyer was killed at Ajah, Lagos State. Bandits Burn Catholic Priest To Death In Niger

Suspected bandits have killed a Catholic Priest of St. Peters and Paul Catholic Church identified as Isaac Achi, in Kafin-Koro, Paikoro Local Government Area, LGA, of Niger State. The priest was torched to death at his residence in the early house of Sunday. The attack was confirmed by the Niger State police command spokesperson, Wasiu Abiodun, noting that the bandits burnt the building after failing to gain access into the priest’s residence. According to Abiodun, another priest was equally shot while trying to escape from the attackers. The management of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has distanced itself from Awoleye Joshua, a student of the institution suspected to have defrauded a United States of America lady, Volapolonius Moss, after he tricked her to come to Nigeria. Nigerian Man Sues Malaysia Govt N406m For Unlawful Detention

A Nigerian man identified as Simon Mamoh, has filed a N406 million suit against the Director-General of Malaysia Immigration Department, Khairul Dzaimee Daud, and three others for alleged unlawful detention and deportation. Mamoh alleges that Malaysian immigration department detained him illegally for 40 days before ordering his deportation from Malaysia to Nigeria. The Nigerian in a lawsuit filed in the High Court of Shah Alam on January 10, listed the compensations being sought to include RM2 million in general damages at a rate of RM50,000 for each day of his unlawful detention, which lasted from March 15, 2021, till April 23, 2021. Four Killed In Anambra As Police Intensify Patrol

Yet-to-be-identified gunmen killed at least four persons on Nzomiwu Street in Eziani community, Ihiala Local Government of Anambra State. Reports say the gunmen stormed the community on Tuesday and started shooting into the air, thereby killing the victims – three males and a pregnant female. The reason for the attack was still sketchy at the time of filing this report but a source in the area said the assailants immediately left the scene after killing the victims. According to the source, the armed men shot indiscriminately as bullets hit four persons.
