Naive Orphan Used By Human Trafficker to Export Drugs

Alleged human trafficker, Matthew Bassey was intercepted by The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in an attempt to traffic illicit drugs to Dubai. The 29-year-old planted the drugs into the luggage of an orphan, Ms. Peter Gift Eno, who he assigned to traffic those drugs, but was later intercepted by NDLEA officials at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. Nigerian Man, Omotola Hassan Arrested With Cocaine In India

The Pune police have arrested a Nigerian man for possession of cocaine valued at ₹4 lakh, in Kondhwan on Wednesday. The alleged peddler was identified as Shamsuddin Omotola Hassan, aged 48, SaharaReporters reports. Police say the Lagos State indigene intended to sell the drugs. Authorities valued the drugs in his possession at about ₹4,16,000. Along with the drugs, the police found five mobile phones worth ₹15,000; one Yamaha motorcycle worth ₹50,000; the cash of ₹20,000; and a weighing scale worth ₹1,000. The total seizure was estimated to be worth ₹5,02,000. The 48-year-old was found at the gate of Brookefield Society when the crime branch officials were patrolling the Kondhwa area at 2:50 am on Wednesday.

The Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye has expressed confidence that Nigeria would soon start manufacturing vaccines, with the upgrading of existing laboratories across the country. She stated that achieving the ISO 9001 in June 2019, which is the world’s most recognised Quality Management System (QMS) standard, places the country in good standing to strive to get to maturity level three, which enables the country manufacture its own vaccines.
