Judicial Panel Turns Down LCC’s Request to Assume Control of Lekki Tollgate

The Judicial Panel of Inquiry setup to unravel the incidence that took place at Lekki toll gate area of Lagos State on October 20, 2020 has refused the request by operators of the tollgate, Lekki Concession Company (LCC), to resume activities at the tollgate. In a brief ruling on Tuesday, retired Justice Doris Okuwobi, Chairman of the panel, said the tollgate plaza would remain shut down. According to the judge, the panel might need to pay subsequent visits to the tollgate plaza after watching the video footage obtained from a surveillance camera turned in by the LCC on Tuesday. Stop the Killings in Oyigbo, Rivers State – Amnesty International Tells Nigerian Military

Amnesty International, a global human rights body has asked the Military to exercise restraint and stop the alleged killings taking place in Oyigbo, Rivers State. The body disclosed this in a series of tweets on its verified Twitter handle, @AmnestyNigeria, on Sunday. The Police force in Edo State has freed an 11-year-old boy identified as Gift Osayuhi who was arrested last week over alleged involvement in the attack of a police station in the state. Osayuhi was arrested for taking part in the attack of Oba Market Police Station at Evbuotubu area of Benin City by hoodlums. Following the fire outbreak at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Akure, Ondo State, Police has launched an investigation to unravel circumstances leading to the incident. No fewer than 5,000 Smart Card Readers stored in a container inside the INEC office were destroyed during the fire that took place on Thursday. Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, Bolaji Salami during his visit to the INEC office for an on-scene assessment said pledged to bring any individual involved in the fire to justice. Soldiers Kill Benue’s Wanted Militia Leader, Gana

The Commander of the Four Special Forces command, Doma, Nasarawa State, Maude Ali Gadzama on Tuesday confirmed the killing of Terwase Akwaza, popularly known as Gana who had been declared wanted in Benue state. Gadzama said Gana was gunned down in a fire fight with military personnel along Gbese-Gboko road. Recall the Benue State Government had in 2015, offered Gana amnesty along with about 500 people but most of them returned to their alleged criminal activities. Uwaila Rape: Police Parade Suspected Killers of UNIBEN Student in a Church

The police in Edo State on Wednesday paraded six suspects believed to have executed the killing of 100 level Microbiology student of the University of Benin, Uwaila Vera Omozuwa.
