Academic activities have commenced at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, NSUK, after some lecturers defied the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. FG Drags ASUU to Court Over Ongoing Strike

The Federal Government has called upon the National Industrial Court (NIC) to settle the trade dispute between it and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. The Federal Government wants the Court to direct ASUU to resume academic activities after shutting down public universities for eight months. The Court issued a letter on the 9th of September, signed by the chief register, stating the court sitting would hold at No 11, New-Bussa close, Area 3, Garki Abuja, on Monday 12th of September 2022, at 9 am. Strike: ASUU Reacts To Parents’ Proposal To Pay N10,000 To End Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has turned down a proposal by the National Parent-Teacher Association of Nigeria, NAPTAN, to contribute at least N10,000 per parent in every academic section in an attempt to bring the lingering strike to an end. Dr. Ademola Ekundayo, NAPTAN Public Relations Officer, in an interview said the effort was to assist the Federal Government to meet the demands of ASUU. Reacting to the development, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, the President of ASUU in an interview with Arise Television on Thursday turned down the offer. NANS To Sue FG Over ASUU Strike

The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has expressed resolve to sue the Federal Government over the prolonged strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. NANS argued that the strike which has rendered university students idle and extended their expected period of graduation is actionable and they will be seeking redress in court for their members.
