The prolonged strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had incited students to mount a roadblock on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday, which left motorists stranded.

Yul reacted to the action by university students, he asked them to channel their pent-up anger to the National Assembly and Aso rock, not the poor masses.

Airing his displeasure about the action on Twitter, Yul asked the students to mount a block on Aso rock and the National Assembly, not the public roads used by citizens.

He wrote, “Dear students, it’s good to see you’re expressing your displeasure over the ASUU strike. However, this move doesn’t make much sense.”

“Citizens don’t have to suffer bcos of the govt’s failure to resolve the strike. If you want to block the road, block the national assembly, block Aso Rock”.
