Osinbajo Breaks Silence, Speaks on Lekki Shooting

Following the shooting at Lekki toll gate area of Lagos State, Vice President Yemi Osinbjo has condoled with victims of the violent act that took place on Tuesday night. Osinbajo took to his verified Twitter handle in the early hours of Thursday to express his sadness over the deaths that have occurred in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria. Security operatives had opened fire on unarmed, peaceful protesters at the Lekki toll gate area on Tuesday who are demanding for an end to police brutality and a new Nigeria. Amnesty International has admitted that security operatives killed scores of peaceful protesters in two locations in Lagos State on Tuesday. This was disclosed in a statement by Director of Amnesty International Nigeria, Osai Ojigho on Wednesday, noting that the killings occurred at Lekki toll gate area and Alausa where multitude of Nigerian youths have staged peaceful protest against police brutality and demanding for a reform of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has condemned the decision by government to deploy soldiers to stop protests at the Lekki tollgate in Lagos. #ENDSARS: Thugs Raze Ondo PDP Secretariat

The Ondo State Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been set ablaze by thugs in the state capital, Akure. This development is coming some hours after the state secretariat of the All Progressives Congress was also razed. The APC had earlier blamed the PDP for the attack on its secretariat while the PDP was yet to respond before the hoodlums attacked. Two vehicles parked within the premises of the Ondo PDP secretariat were razed. The Spokesman of Ondo PDP , Kenney Peretei, described the action as barbaric adding that it was shocking for the party’s secretariat to be razed few hours after the APC accused it of burning its secretariat.

Lekki Shooting: No Life was Lost – Sanwo-Olu

Governor Babjide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has said no casualty was recorded in the shooting that took place at Lekki toll gate area of the state. Sanwo-Olu disclosed this in a state broadcast on Wednesday, noting that contrary to claims on social media, his tour of hospitals and morgues in the state showed that two persons underwent surgery while others that sustained “mild to moderate” injuries were being treated. BREAKING: Hoodlums Attack TVC in Lagos

Irate hoodlums have attacked Television Continental (TVC) headquarters in Lagos State on Wednesday (today). The thugs thronged the entrance of the Television station in Ikosi-Ketu area of Lagos and tried breaking in to the broadcast station. The attack on TVC, speculated to be owned by APC national leader, Bola Tinubu disrupted the broadcast of the station as programmes scheduled for Wednesday morning were delayed. The development comes after scores of #EndSARS protesters were killed on Tuesday by alleged security operatives in some parts of Lagos, notably at the Lekki Toll Gate.
