The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar has claimed that the North ranks as the most insecure region in the country. He disclosed this at the fourth quarterly meeting of the Nigeria inter-religious Council in Abuja, themed, ‘Questioning for peace in the challenges of insecurity and COVID-19’. The Sultan noted that bandits were freely operating in the North, adding that residents were always on the edge. Family Of Slain Vendor Demands N500m Compensation From Gbajabiamila

The family of the late newspaper vendor, Ifeanyichukwu Okereke, who was murdered by a security aide of Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has demanded for the sum of N500m as compensation. The Okereke family said it would take legal action against Gbajabiamila if all the demands were not met within seven days. This was contained in a letter dated November 23, 2020 signed by lawyer to the family, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN). The Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila, has on Saturday, visited the family of the slain newspaper vendor, Ifeanyi Okereke, who was shot dead by his security aide, insidenaija reports. In the speaker’s entourage were the spokesperson of the house, Benjamin Kalu, and some aides. Mr Gbajabiamila condoled with the wife and family of the late vendor at Kwata village, Madalla-Suleja, Niger State. Brigadier General Ahmed Taiwo, Commander of 81 Military Intelligence Brigade, Victoria Island, Lagos, which was the Army unit deployed to the Lekki Tollgate area on the night of October 20, has admitted that the officers went to the scene with Live and blank bullet. Gbajabiamila Reveals Security Aide Who Shot Abuja Vendor Dead

Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila has revealed identity of a security aide attached to his convoy, who shot a vendor, Ifeanyi Okereke on Thursday at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja. Following the nationwide #EndSARS protests, the Federal Government has secured the freezing of accounts of 20 #EndSARS promoters after approaching a Federal High Court in Abuja on the basis that the funds might have been linked to terrorist activities. This was revealed in a written address in support of a motion ex parte filed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
