#ENDSARS: Edo Police Parade Suspects for Jail-breaking Looting, and other Offences

The Edo State Police Command on Wednesday paraded 126 suspects in connection with the jail-breaks, looting and vandalism in the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests across the nation. According to the breakdown released by the State Commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo, 106 suspects were arrested for breaking stores, looting and arson. He also said 10 escapees were re-arrested, while 10 suspects were arrested for other offences. Humanitarian body, Amnesty International has condemned the killing of eight school children inside their classroom by gunmen in Kumba, South West region of Cameroon on Saturday. The body in a statement issued on its verified Twitter, obtained by African News Today said that the killing amounted to an atrocity that underscores the urgency of protecting ordinary people from the ongoing violence in English speaking region of Cameroon. Breaking: Violence Erupts in Abakaliki

Abakaliki, the state capital of Ebonyi State has once again erupted in violence as gunshots rent the air in major parts of the city. The violence which began around 3pm caused panic in the city as residents scampered for safety. It was unclear where the gunshots were coming from or who was firing but reports circulating online said the Central Police Station Onuebonyi has been set ablaze by suspected hoodlums. Police and other security agencies were also reported to be engaging the hoodlums in a gun duel at the time of filling the report.

#EndSARS: Buratai, GOCs Meet over Protest

The top hierarchy of the Nigerian Army, including the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, General Officers Commanding (GOC) of the Divisions and Operation Commanders, are currently in a meeting where they are brainstorming on the recent threat to national security caused by the #EndSARS protests. Oyetola Declares 24-hour Curfew in Osun

Osun State governor, Gboyega Oyetola, has imposed a 24-hour curfew on the state. A yet-t0-be known number of prisoners have escaped the Nigerian Correctional Centre, commonly referred to as Okere Prison in Warri South council area of Delta State, amidst heavy shooting by security operatives. Flames and thick smoke are also emanating from the premises, fuelling fear among residents, most of whom have locked shops and scampered for safety. The cause of the fire is not clear, but confirmed reports claim that the thick smoke coming out of the premises of the correctional centre is as a result of the burning of tyres.
