Sanwo-Olu Releases Names of Police Officers Under Prosecution for Right Violation

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has released a list of police officers being prosecuted for violation of human rights in the state. Sanwo-Olu who disclosed this in a post on his verified Twitter handle on Friday expressed optimism that the time is right to rebuild the state. The development comes at a time when thousands of youths across Nigeria had taken to the streets to demand for an end to police brutality and extrajudicial killings perpetrated by the operatives of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS). Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has condemned the decision by government to deploy soldiers to stop protests at the Lekki tollgate in Lagos. #ENDSARS: Thugs Raze Ondo PDP Secretariat

The Ondo State Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been set ablaze by thugs in the state capital, Akure. This development is coming some hours after the state secretariat of the All Progressives Congress was also razed. The APC had earlier blamed the PDP for the attack on its secretariat while the PDP was yet to respond before the hoodlums attacked. Two vehicles parked within the premises of the Ondo PDP secretariat were razed. The Spokesman of Ondo PDP , Kenney Peretei, described the action as barbaric adding that it was shocking for the party’s secretariat to be razed few hours after the APC accused it of burning its secretariat.

  Some suspected thugs on Monday morning broke into the Benin Prison popularly known as White House on Sapele road, Benin and freed inmates. The thugs broke parts of the wall, climbing the high fence into the prison to free the inmates. The thugs were reported to have overpowered officials of the prison who confronted them in heavy gunshots.
