The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-olu has announced a 24-hour curfew starting by 4pm today, 20th of October 2020. A 24-hour curfew has been declared by the Godwin Obaseki led Edo state government. This curfew is to commence from 4pm today, the 19th of October across the state. According to a statement released by Osarodion Ogie Esq., Secretary to the Edo State Government, this was necessitated as a result of the "the very disturbing incidents of vandalism and attacks on private individuals and institutions by hoodlums in the guise of #ENDSARS protesters." Lagos has witnessed fresh explosion as Best Roof Cooking Gas plant exploded on Thursday in the Baruwa community of the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State. The Court of Appeal in Abuja today has upheld the election of the Bayelsa State governor, Duoye Diri. The court set aside the August 18, 2020 verdict of the Bayelsa State Governorship Petitions Tribunal which had ordered a fresh poll to be conducted within 90 days. The Advanced Nigeria Democratic Party (ANDP), had petitioned the court over alleged unlawful exclusion of its candidate, King George from the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The tribunal had in a split decision of two-to-one, voided the November 16, 2019 Bayelsa State governorship poll.   The Nigerian Federal Executive Council (FEC) has projected a N13.08 trillion budget for the 2021 fiscal year. Speaking to State House Correspondents after the weekly virtual FEC meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister for Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, also said the oil benchmark has been pegged at $40 per barrel.
