The men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Gombe State Command, have arrested a 40-year-old man, Usman Mohammed, for luring about 12 children aged between five to 10 years old. Mohammed, a resident of Liji in Yalmatu Deba Local Government Area of the state, allegedly specialized in having carnal knowledge of minors. A man identified as Ibrahim Dauda, has reportedly killed his brother, Tunde, during a fight over N1,000 at their residence on Amusa street, off Community Road, in the Obadore area of Igando, Lagos State. According to Punch Metro, the brothers were at home when an argument involving N1,000 started between them. The argument culminated in the brothers engaging in fisticuffs, during which Ibrahim ran into the house and reached for an iron rod. One Million Africans May Die Of Cancer By 2030 – WHO

Dr Matshidisco Moeti, the World Health Organisation, WHO, Regional Director for Africa, expressed fear that cancer mortality may rise to about one million deaths per year by 2030 in Africa if urgent actions and interventions are not undertaken. Moeti said that an estimated 1.1 million new cancer cases are recorded every year in Africa, with about 700,000 deaths. She disclosed this in a message to mark the 2023 World Cancer Day.
