Gunmen kill Ondo Monarch

Suspected kidnappers have killed a first-class traditional ruler in Ondo State, the Oluifon of Ifon in Ose Local Government Area, Oba Israel Adeusi. According to reports, Oba Adeusi was  shot about 5:50pm near Elegbeka village along the Benin-Akure highway while returning to his community after a meeting in Akure. Sources said he was confirmed dead at a private hospital where he was rushed to. It was gathered that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu canceled all his official engagements when he heard of the killing. The kidnappers were said to have also abducted two persons at the same spot. Police spokesman, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro, who confirmed the killing, said all police divisions within the Ondo North axis have been mobilised to arrest the perpetrators.

One Feared Dead As Armed Robbers Attack Ondo Bank

Pandemonium ensued in Ode Irele town, the headquarters of Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State on Thursday when some armed robbers attacked a branch of Union Bank Plc in the town. According to an eyewitness, the bandits numbering nine stormed the bank about 4.10 pm and carted away money while one person was feared killed. The eyewitness said the robbers gained entrance into the bank, after using explosives suspected to be dynamite to blast the bullet-proof door and spent over 45 minutes on the operation. Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi has dissolved the Governing Councils of the State University and College of Education. A 100 level student of Osun State University, Ikire campus Juba Orisajafor on Tuesday drank poison and died few hours he preached against suicide on his WhatsApp status. 138 NYSC Members Test Positive for COVID-19 —NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Monday  disclosed that a total of 138 members of the National Youth Service Corps have tested positive for COVID-19. Disclosing this during the briefing by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja, the NDDC Director-General, Chikwe Ihekweazu, said the safe reopening of the NYSC orientation camps across the country was successful. He stated that none of those who tested positive was allowed into the camps.
