President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the killing of over 100 residents of Plateau State by a terrorist group, describing the incident as heinous.
Reports earlier emerged that gunmen killed at least 142 persons in fresh attacks on communities in Wase and Kanam Local Government Areas of the state.
The incident occurred on Sunday in Kukawa, Gyambawu, Dungur, Kyaram, Yelwa, Dadda, Wanka, Shuwaka, Gwammadaji, and Dadin Kowa communities in the local government.
Reacting, the president, in a statement by his spokesman, Garba Shehu said the perpetrators should not be allowed to escape justice.

“They should not be spared or forgiven,” directed the President.
He also ordered law enforcement agencies to work strenuously with the government of the state, to bring the situation under control and take steps to bring the culprits to justice quickly.
President Buhari called on residents of the state to ensure that the criminal elements are exposed for proper actions by the security agencies, saying they must not be forgiven.
