Ortom Advocates Gun License to Responsible Nigerians as Solution to Insecurity

  Samuel Ortom, Governor of Benue State, has called on the Federal Government to issue gun licenses to responsible citizens to wield assault rifles like AK47 as a responsive measure to curtail the spate of insecurity in the country. Ortom, however, said the move should be regulated by a well formulated legal guidance to prevent weapons falling into the wrong hands. Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State has been issued a 30-day ultimatum by four aggrieved ethnic groups in the state to address lingering injustices meted out to them by successive administrations.
