A divisional police station in Awka has been attacked by unknown gunmen. Eyewitnesses say an unconfirmed number of police officers were killed. The attack which lasted more than an hour had residents scampering for safety. There hasn't been an official statement by Anambra state police command.

Hoodlums Raze INEC Headquarters in Enugu

The headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Enugu has been set ablaze on Sunday night with some vehicles razed. This comes barely 48 hours after an office of the commission in Udenu Local Government Area went up in flames. Reports say the arsonists numbering about seven stormed the commission situated near Enugu State Broadcasting Service at Independence Layout in a Mini-Bus and ignited fire to six Hilux vehicles, five of which were completely razed. Unidentified gunmen have invaded the Nsukwa Divisional Police Station in the Aniocha South Local Government Area of the State, killing three operatives of the Nigeria Police and a suspect. Residents were thrown into panic as the gunmen attacked the station around 2am on Sunday as sporadic gunshots were heard for hours, keeping residents awake throughout the night, SaharaReporters reported. Police arrest Four Suspects for Burning its Command in Imo

Officers of the Imo State Police Command have arrested four suspects on the suspicion of razing the Okigwe South Area Police Command headquarters. Recall that some unknown gunmen had on April 26 invaded the station, killing five officers in the process. In a statement issued on Friday, the state Commissioner of Police. Abutu Yaro, said that when attackers departed the station, some youths of the community invade the command building and carted away the station’s arms and ammunition and later set it ablaze.
