Mbaka Slams Governors For ‘Selling out’ Kanu

Fiery Catholic priest and founder of Adoration Ministry Enugu, Rev. Fr Ejike Mbaka, has blamed unnamed governors for the arrest of the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu. The cleric did not name any governor, nor did he directly mention Kanu’s name throughout the course of his message during his popular Wednesday weekly ministration tagged E No Dey Again. How Boko Haram, ISWAP Are Using Social Media to Recruit – Monguno

The National Security Adviser, Maj Gen Babagana Monguno (retd), has raised the alarm that social media has become a harbour for terrorist groups such as Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP, to recruit and inculcate their values on prone Nigerian youths. Bandits Shoot Zamfara Lawmaker Dead

A member of the Zamfara House of Assembly, Mohammed Ahmed, has been shot dead by bandits along Sheme- Funtua Road in Katsina State. Announcing his death, the Clerk of the Zamfara House House of Assembly,  Saidu Anka, said Ahmed was traveling to his town when he was killed by the bandits. His funeral prayers would be performed at Sheikh Ahmed Umar Kanoma Mosque by 11 o’clock on Wednesday. Until his death, the deceased was the chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation.

Gunmen Kill UNIBEN Student Days After Final Exam

A final year student of the Department of Political Science, University of Benin, Austin Izu, has been killed through gunshot by unidentified gunmen in his friend’s off-campus residence on the Federal Girls College Road, Ugbowo. The deceased, who took his final examination last week, was alleged to have descended to the ground floor from the upper floor of the hostel to visit his friend, Walter Emaka, Punch reported. No fewer than six serving corps members were injured as armed robbers attacked their lodge and cart away valuables in Osun State. Polytechnic Ibadan was shut down on Sunday over the rising spate of insecurity in Oyo State. The public relations officer of the institution, Adewole Soladoye, in a statement signed by the registrar, Mrs Modupe Theresa Fawale, said it is to monitor the security temperature within the institution and its environment. Gallant men of the Nigerian Army along the Mokwa-Jebba Road have arrested an on the run bandit during a stop and search operation along the road. The bandit was heading to Ogbomoso in Oyo State. The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig Gen Onyema Nwachukwu, in a release on Tuesday, said the bandit was nabbed in the late hours of Sunday when the troops intercepted a car travelling from Zuru to Ibadan.
