According to their statement, the leaders considered it an insult for their groups which represent Nigerian nationalities to be lumped with a trade organization which has also be linked to several killings across the country. Details of their response to Gen. Abdusalami's invitation are given below. Nigeria: Ministership for Sale – Up to N2.5b Per Slot, by Farooq Kperogi

except for a few ministerial nominations, every other post was literally auctioned off to the highest bidder. I declined to comment on the ministerial list Buhari sent to the Senate for two reasons: I was deeply distraught by what I heard about the process that produced it and I wanted to confirm the info from trustworthy people who should know.  Four different, dependable, and independent sources who don’t know each other but who’re close to the corridors of power were eerily united in telling me that except for a few ministerial nominations (notably those of Adamu Adamu, Ali Isa Pantami, Mohammed Musa Bello, Raji Fashola whom Buhari himself personally penciled— and those that were conceded to Tinubu) every other post was literally auctioned off to the highest bidder. One Jeddy...

Opinion: Don’t You Already Regret Voting for Buhari? by Femi Aribisala

The 2019 presidential election was essentially between two Fulani men. But the incendiary of Fulanisation only pertains to one of them: President Muhammadu Buhari. Every right-thinking Nigerian knows Buhari did not win the 2019 presidential election.  Nevertheless, at the very least, some 10 million Nigerians must have voted genuinely for him.  In view of the extent to which the situation in Nigeria has deteriorated dramatically over the few months since the election, we need to ask the president’s supporters if they don’t now regret voting for him.  Is the Nigeria of today really the Nigeria they voted for? Is it not now abundantly clear that a vote for Buhari was a vote for conflict, crisis and confusion?  Did his supporters realise that they were voting for the disintegration of t...

Nigeria: Miyetti Allah and Fulani Herdsmen Commence Vigilante Operations In Yorubaland

In a shocking development, a Miyetti Allah vigilante group has been spotted operating in Ondo state, Nigeria. This revelation was made by one Kayode Ajulo, a legal practitioner who narrated his encounter with one such Fulani Vigilante group on his way returning from Akure. Ajulo said that this group whom he described as terrorists were already mounting the highways with guns and openly doing "security work”. They have direct phone lines with the neighboring police stations confirming they are legit. Some of the Herdsmen Vigilante are wearing various Nigerian security outfits. This confirmed the police announcement in June that they will collaborate with Fulani Herdsmen to bring back peace in the country. Nigerians were also shocked when the Miyetti Allah announced too that they will...

Opinion: A Word for Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah – Fani-Kayode

“If it is Fulani today, yesterday it was the Igbos”- Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah. I have immense respect for Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah but to compare the situation of the Fulani in the south today to the situation of the Igbo in the north in 1966 is disingenuous and intellectually dishonest. The Igbo did not slaughter the Fulani in the 1966 northern pogroms but rather it was the Fulani that slaughtered the Igbo. In 1966 alone no less than 100,000 innocent and defenceless Igbos were butchered by the Fulani and other northerners in the north. Today it is again the Fulani that are slaughtering thousands of Igbo, Yoruba and other southerners all over the south. They are also killing Middle Belters. The south and the Middle Belt do not have a tradition of killing the innocent and the d...
