Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has told President Muhammadu Buhari to allow the old and new naira notes to both be in circulation as legal tender. Cash scarcity has been witnessed across the country as a fallout of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s naira redesign policy. Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has disclosed the rationale behind the latest attack by gunmen on Craneburg Construction yard in Owo on Wednesday. Akeredolu won’t Engage in Media War with Lawan – Aide

The Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu has disclosed that he would not react to the statement attributed to the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, on the issue of insecurity in the country, saying he was not interested in engaging any person or group of persons in media war on the issue, especially the ones that concern the South-West. The Governor stated this through his Special Assistant on New Media, Mr Olabode Olatunde. He said, “At the risk of being repetitive, the Governor Akeredolu-led South-West Governors will not go into the arena of media conflict with crisis entrepreneurs and divisionists.”

Akeredolu Orders Massive Amotekun Recruitment

Ondo Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has ordered massive recruitment into the State Security Network known as the Amotekun Corps in its second batch recruitment exercise. Akeredolu was the first to launch the Amotekun Corps last year in the South West region to help tackle criminal elements in the state. Categories of officers to be recruitment included regular officers, intelligence Corps and volunteers. Commander of the Corps, Chief Tunji Adeleye, in a statement said interested applicants must be between 20 and 70 years. The Amotekun Corps had helped to stem the tide of kidnapping and other criminal activities in the state.

Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, is mourning the death of his Chief of Protocol, Tosin Ogunbodede. This is coming a few weeks after Governor Akeredolu’s mourned the death of his Commissioner of Regional Integration and Special Duties, Professor Bayonle Ademodi. Ogunbodede died on Saturday died in a ghastly accident while returning from Ibadan. Late Ogunbodede died alongside his driver when the Toyota Corolla car they were riding in rammed into a trailer along Ilesa-Akure road.
