Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, meddled in the 2019 governorship poll in the State. The accusation was made during the flag-off ceremony of the construction of internal roads in Igwuruta, Ikwerre Local Council of the state, performed by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State. The Peter Obi media office has berated Dele Alake, the Director of Strategy and Communications of the Bola Tinubu campaign council after his comments about the Labour Party, LP presidential aspirant. Alake, a former Lagos Commissioner for Information in Lagos State had rated Tinubu’s achievements above that of Obi. Obi’s media team while reacting to Alake’s comments described him as one of those who believe that Nigeria begins and ends in Lagos. The Abuja court of appeal has upheld the nomination of Sherrif Oborevwori as the Delta State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. The court overturned the judgement of a federal high court in Abuja that asked the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to recognize David Edevbie as the authentic candidate of the PDP for the guber poll.
