Vehicle Conveying NSCDC Officers To Lagos Crashes in Abuja

Some personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, were reportedly injured during an accident involving an operational vehicle on Friday evening. The road mishap happened at the Giri roundabout in Abuja. The officers were reportedly on their way to Lagos on election duty. The number of officers of the agency involved could not be obtained at the time of filing this report. A video shared by the NTA pictured passersby picking up papers suspected to be electoral materials scattered on the ground. 190,000 Applicants Jostle For 9,460 NIS, NSCDC Jobs

Over 190,000 applicants are jostling for 9,460 job slots at the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). The candidates sat for the examination today in 126 centres across nationwide, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The examination, which was computer-based, was conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). NSCDC Dismisses Officer Caught on Tape Looting COVID-19 Palliatives

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has dismissed an officer Corps Assistant Illiya Ibrahim of the Gwagwalada Division, Abuja, who was caught on tape participating in the looting of COVID-19 palliatives discovered in the area. The Media Assistant to the Commandant General NSCDC, Ekunola Gbenga, disclosed this in a statement released in Abuja on Tuesday.
