Kogi Confirms Explosion During Buhari’s Visit, Names Suspects

The Kogi State government has confirmed the explosion which rocked the state during a visit by President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday. The state government blamed the explosion on “enemies of progress” and misguided politicians”. Recall that an explosion was reported around a community in Okene Local Government Area, LGA, of the State on Thursday morning. The incident occurred at a mosque near the palace of Ado Ibrahim, the paramount ruler of Ebiraland.   The development took place while President Buhari was in the area to inaugurate projects executed by the state government. Gboyega Oyetola, the immediate past Osun State Governor, his wife, Kafayat Oyetola, and other former aides have been asked to return without delay, official vehicles in their possession. The directive was issued by the Asset Recovery Panel of the Osun State Government on Friday in Osogbo, the State capital. The Nigerian Air Force Special Forces under the 271 Detachment in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State has freed seven Chinese workers abducted by suspected Bandits in Niger State. The Chinese expatriates were abducted in June while working at a mining site.
