IG Orders Tight Security Ahead Eid-el-Kabir Celebration

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Usman Alkali Baba has directed zonal Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs) to put necessary security measures in place to ensure a secure, peaceful and hitch-free Eid-el-Kabri celebration. Baba assured the nation that the police were ready to sustain efforts in fighting crimes and criminality as well as improve public safety and security across the country. Police have arrested four suspected robbers who wrote Ofatedo community in Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State, demanding N20 million, and later attacked some residents in the area. Stop Giving “Juju” to Cult Members, Police Ask Traditionalists

Hakeem Odumosu, the Lagos State Commissioner of police has cautioned traditionalists operating in the Ikorodu Local Government Area of the state to desist from strengthening cultists and criminals in the area with local charms, otherwise called juju in the country. This was contained in his speech during the 2021 Ikorodu Town Hall meeting on security on Wednesday. The commissioner said the state had enjoyed appreciable peace except in some areas like Ikorodu with a high rate of vices such as cultism, gangsterism, traffic robbery, ritual killings, amongst others. Anambra Police Parade Two Teenagers, 12 Others for Illegal Revenue Collection, Armed Robbery

The Anambra State Police Command has paraded fourteen males suspects who are engaged in illegal revenue collection and armed robbery in different parts of Onitsha. The suspects who were paraded at the Police Area Command Headquarters, Onitsha, were arrested in separate raids by the command's patrol team. Among the fourteen suspects were two teenagers, who were arrested separately at Nkpor Junction and Awada Obosi while robbing people of their belongings with a make-shift gun at night. The Police Service Commission (PSC) has sacked four senior Police Officers for discreditable misconduct and dishonesty.
