No COVID-19 Deaths Recorded in Nine Days – NCDC

The Nigerian Center for Disease Control reported zero COVID-19-related deaths for the ninth consecutive day as the nation’s fatality toll remains 2,061. The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Tuesday. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the country last registered a COVID-19-related death on April 11. It reports that aside from April 11, the number of reported deaths in week 14, which was April 6, was two from two states. January will Be Tough, NCDC Warns Nigerians

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has warned that January 2021 will be tough with an increase in new cases of covid-19. The warning is coming on the heels of the non adherence to social distancing protocol by people during the yuletide and holiday period. 138 NYSC Members Test Positive for COVID-19 —NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Monday  disclosed that a total of 138 members of the National Youth Service Corps have tested positive for COVID-19. Disclosing this during the briefing by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja, the NDDC Director-General, Chikwe Ihekweazu, said the safe reopening of the NYSC orientation camps across the country was successful. He stated that none of those who tested positive was allowed into the camps. NYSC Camps Won’t Be Closed If a COVID Case is Detected – NCDC

None of the 37 orientation camps of the National Youth Service Corps would be shut down should one corps member test positive to COVID-19, the Director-General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, has said. Ondo2020: INEC to Adopt No-face-mask-no-voting  

The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has directed the electoral umpire, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to enforce no-face-mask-no-voting rule in the Saturday governorship election in Ondo State. The PTF National Coordinator, Dr Sani Aliyu said this during a media briefing in Abuja on Thursday.   The Federal Government on Friday commissioned and subsequently handed over the Infectious Disease Care Centre built and equipped by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), to the management of the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH), Gwagwalada. Fed Govt Confirm Delivery of Sample Collection Booths from Korea

  The Federal Government has taken delivery of three “Smart Walk-through Booths” for COVID-19 sample collection donated by the Republic of Korea on Thursday to assist in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic. The handover ceremony of the booths was performed at the National Reference Laboratory Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), in Abuja. According to a statement released by the Director of Press of the Federal Ministry of Health Olujimi Oyetomi, the Minister of State for Health Dr. Olorunnimbe Mamora expressed appreciations to the Government of Korea for the donation of the 3 Smart Walk-through Booths for COVID-19 sample collection to the Nigerian Government.
