Speaking on the issue, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, the National Publicity Secretary of the party called on the President not to provide cover for the embattled minister. In a statement issued on Saturday, he said "The world can now see how the Buhari Presidency has been concealing sharp practices under it. Mikel's dad was kidnapped about four hours before the kick-off Super Eagle's last group match which was with Argentina. Just before the match, he was called by a family member who informed him of the kidnap and gave him a number to call. Mikel called the number and was told to pay a ransom of N10 million and not to inform anyone or else his dad will be killed. According Mikel, he could not inform the NFF because of the threat and also because he did not want it to be a source of distraction to the team. He said "I played while my father was in the hands of bandits. I had to suppress the trauma. I took a call four hours before kick-off to tell me what had happened. Opinion: How Bad Does Nigeria Have to Get?

When a business becomes unprofitable and insolvent, it is put through the bankruptcy courts where it undergoes financial ‘restructuring’. This can involve de-mergers, spin-offs and other activities that show that the original enterprise was flawed and is resulting in losses for its stakeholders. How bad does Nigeria have to get before we embark on bankruptcy proceedings? How much more can we take before we ‘restructure’, de-merge, spin-off or do whatever it takes to stop this accelerating descent into medieval mediocrity that has been the case since 1966? Another election is like attempting to change management for a Horse Carriage business in the hopes that the new team will somehow achieve results against the trend towards automobiles (circa 1940s). With a situation like that...

Nigeria: Army of Internet Trolls Recruited to Malign Me – Ezekwesili

Oby Ezekwesili has taken to her Twitter page to call attention to the unsavory response to her protests. In her tweets, she noted that regardless of what part of the country the injustice she was protesting was happening, attempts were always made to question her motives. In her tweets she said "Here’s the thing. For me, Humanity has: No Ethnic address. No Language. No Religion nor Denomination. No Economic Status. No Political Belief. No Extras. Humanity is SIMPLY HUMANITY. My VOICE SHALL SPEAK whenever & wherever WE FAIL TO PROTECT HUMANITY. "I Protested the inaction of an administration on the KILLINGS and ABDUCTIONS in the North East, some hurled insults & impugned my “motive”. I protested the KILLINGS in the North West, an army of internet trolls were recruited to malign...
