BRT Bus Accident: LASG Arraigns Truck Driver for Reckless Driving

The Lagos State Government, through the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Ministry of Justice on Friday arraigned the Dangote cement truck driver who was involved in the road accident that led to the death of four persons in Ikorodu. This contained in release by the Ministry  stated that the accused person, Mr. Sheriff Adebayo, was arraigned before Justice Sherifat Solebo of the Ikeja High Court on a four-count charge of involuntary manslaughter contrary to section 224 of the Criminal Law of Lagos. Lagos Gov Appoints Abdullahi as Acting Commissioner for Waterfront

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday approved the appointment of Mallam Ahmed Kabiru Abdullahi as Acting Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development. Abdullahi, who is from Kastina State, was initially appointed by the Governor as Special Adviser on Urban Development. He was also a former Executive Secretary of Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission. According to a circular signed by the Head of Service, Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola, Abdullahi's redesignation takes immediate effect.

Enforcement of Ban on Okada and Tricycle Operations in Lagos Island Commences

The Lagos State Government on Monday commenced the enforcement of the ban on Okada and Tricycle operations within the Lagos Central Business District in accordance with Section 3 of the Lagos Road Traffic Law, 2012. The Special Adviser to the Governor on CBD, Prince Anofiu Olarenwaju Elegushi disclosed this while monitoring enforcement of the ban within the Lagos Island Business District. Elegushi expressed displeasure at the recalcitrant attitude of the Tricycle and Okada operators who flout the stipulated traffic laws of the State guiding their operations with impunity. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday arrested 18 (Eighteen) suspected internet fraudsters in Alagbado area of Lagos State. The suspects are:  Abass Mukhtar, Enitan Adekunle, Olakunle Araoyinbo, Korede Adetule, Christmas Gabriel, Christmas Yole, Christmas Emmanuel and Harrison Obayogbono. Others are: Victor Kenneth, Adewale Musibau, Oluwajuwon Shofuyi, Idris Abdulazeez, Oyeku Adeoye, Omilana Adeleke, Okeke Chucks, Peters Olamide, Abayomi Jones and Usman Olalekan.
